Menodora scabra, Olive family (Oleaceae)
Flowers: Red pointed bud opens into bright yellow flower (to 3/4")with 5 or 6 points, followed by round berries inside green fork-like prongs.
Leaves: Long,narrow, grey-green leaves to 1 1/2".
Height: Stem may grow to 1 1/2" high.

Typically found in on rocky hillsides and in dry, flat areas.
