Machaeranthera asteroides, Sunflower family (Compositae)
Flowers:	Purple daisy-like flower with yellow center, to 1/2" wide.
Leaves:	Grey-green, to 3" long, with points on leaf margins.
Height:	Grows to 4' high.
Photographed May 16, near Superstition Mountain.. Typically found near washes and on flats.
