Hedgehog
Edinocereus engelmannii, Cactus family (Cactaceae)
Flowers:	Bright magenta to pink flowers (to 3" wide) with sharply pointed petals. Flowers are green at center.
Cactus:	Cylindrical cactus sections to 3" diameter with spines to 2" long.
Height:	May grow to 20" high.
Photographed March 29 in the Superstition Mountain area. Typically found in sandy soil and rocky desert areas.
