Beloperone californica, Acanthus family (Acanthaceae)
Flowers:Bright red, in clusters at top of stem, tubular (to 2" long) with 3 lobes on lower lip.
Leaves:Soft, hairy, oval shaped gray-green leaves (to 1" long).
Height:Bush may grow to 6'.

Typically found in desert washes and rocky areas.
